Wounds Of Division Are Still To Heal
Beyond the borders besides the sand
Is our brother with our own land,
Singing merry songs the “Westerlies” blow
Sindhu was also eager to flow…..
Some years before when we were one
Love bloomed and hatred was none ,
After the nightmare with the “white” men
Brotherhood was broken with the ink of pen…..
Groups were formed and Borders were drawn
All for the sake of “Green” and “Saffron”,
Tears were here and same there too
Humanity wept and the blood flew….
Twice they clashed in the bravest Fights
Crores were fired in one Night,
Now poor are thou and me tooo
I have Hunger and Cries, have’nt U…..?
Now let me live in Peace here
And you too have the Peace,
Open up to new Horizons
And see the darkness flees….
Celebrate the freedom but remember the past
We are the sons of same Mother at last,
We both sail in the same ship
U go for “Rahim” and “Ram” I worship……
Poor are U and Me too
Pains I have , hav’nt U?
Both of us now toil for a days Meal
The wounds of DIVISION are still to heal……
(10 th Std…summer vacations..Post Kargil War)…………………Yeshu!

How truly and well this poem portrays the anguish felt by many!!!!!!!!!!
It compels one to think, whether this is what we had thought of when we achieved our Independence
Think people, Think!!!
Kudos to u, Pallavi
